How to use pinterest to plan your kids party

From their first birthday to their tenth birthday, party planning is always a treat for the mums out there who like getting creative!

Pinterest is go-to for mums who are seeking inspiration on what to do, looking for tips and DIY instructional videos and so much more.

Let us walk you through the basics of how to best plan your ultimate kids party with Pinterest:

Step One: Collect

Think of Pinterest as a search engine, but it gives you everything related to your search in visual form. Every post or “Pin” is a link to the original photo or article, and they’re posted on Pinterest with the cutest cover photos to make browsing such a treat!

Tip number one is to collect and collect. It’s free after all!

A party needs to have a theme, right?! Gather ideas by first using the general search words, “Kids Party Theme” or anything similar! Tonnes of pins will come up, and your hunt for themes begins! Hit the “Save” button at the top right corner of the pin for later viewing, and create a “Kids Party” Board as your save location.

You can either search all of Pinterest or follow these top viewed accounts if you need a place to start: Great Kids Birthday PartiesBirthday Party Ideas 4 KidsThe Forever Teacher, and even Party Kit Company!

Step Two: Select

Now that you have your sea of options in your “Kids Party” Board, choose the theme! Tip number two is select the theme whose elements you think you can pull off best, the elements being partyware, decorations, activities, food, attire, and more.

Now, you can create a new board called “Luke’s 7th Birthday” and add pins as you please according to your chosen theme. Here’s where the fun begins!

Step Three: Organize

Now, remember those elements we talked earlier? Decorations, Food, Attire… These are the different sections you can create within your “Luke’s 7th Birthday” board!

Tip number three is to create different sections for the various elements of your party, by clicking on the “Edit” button at the top left side of every pin and assigning them, and you also have the “Organize” button at the top right side of the board for future use!

Our last pro tip for you is that you can link your guests to Pinterest boards, and we’d recommend you to make an Attire board to help give your guests an idea of what to wear!

Now you’re all set to plan the perfect kids party! Pin away!
