Favourite Party Trends of 2015
Every year, we see a fresh new crop of party themes and trends, and I love seeing how people reinterpret them to be their own. Here's what party-throwers couldn't seem to get enough of in 2015:
Think pineapples, flamingos, watermelons and cactus; this trend will probably be around until at least the end of summer as it's fun, colourful and incredibly versatile. For younger parties, you can opt for cartoonish motifs and masses of colour, while for adult events, simplify the colour scheme, add some lush cocktails and you're sorted!

Glitter and Metallic
Typically a bit of a 'girly' theme, this year's addition of foiled items, coppers and fringe has really taken this trend to a whole new level. Adopting some of these principles ourselves, we released the Pastel Pink and Gold Party Kit and coordinating Decorator Kit, featuring foiled plates and glittery garlands! We love this theme as it's so flexible.

Donuts, donuts, donuts! Yep, the humble donut and its dessert cousins, candy and ice cream, have truly shot to fame this year. It's such a fun theme, whether you choose pastel shades or bright sprinkle inspired goodies. Always motivated by food, I couldn't help but come up with the Candy Coloured Party Kit and Decorator Kit, both delectably bright and eye-catching.

This theme's been around a while, but it's evolved into a more classy, 'grown up' version. Less about hay bales and burlap, more about farm tables and slate serving boards. Sure, chalkboard accents are here to stay (as they can be both beautiful AND functional), but overall, it's a more elegant way to do rustic. Hooray to that.

This is by far my favourite trend, and I sure hope it sticks around. Never one to go completely over the top, this style has seen many in the industry pare it all back, sticking to bold, simple and truly chic designs. You could take any one of the above trends and just simplify it. Have four colours in your colour palette? Make it two and pair it with black or white. Have six different desserts planned? Cut it down to three. Remember, 'good things come in threes', so think three colours, groups of three decorations, three dishes per course, etc. I hope we see more of this!
